Ivy Ridge and Apple Ridge Retirement Homes

Last month Ivy Ridge residents and their families celebrated 305 combined years of birthdays for three fellow residents with a afternoon filled with fun, games, good food, and entertainment. There were 106 candles on one cake, 101 on another, and 98 on the third. In addition to their many cards and gifts, the birthday kids were presented with congratulatory plaques from the Whitehouse and the State Capitol. Entertainment was provided by the resident's favorite vocalist. Priscilla outdid herself with a wide selection of delicious appetizers and finger sandwiches. After the cake ceremony a group gathered around the piano for a singalong of favorite tunes. Brownie and Sassy, who are usually busy participating in pet therapy, made sure that there were no crumbs left on the floor. Halloween proved to be another festive occasion with both staff and residents competing for the best costume, make-up, or disguise. Last month was also the occasion of our annual unannounced survey from the State. All of the staff is to be congratulated for a zero deficiency survey for the fourth year in a row. It was the seventh year of zero-deficiency surveys for Michele, our awesome administrator.
